Kelsea Fitzpatrick
Kelsea is the Owner and Director of The Dance Compound in Calgary, Alberta, where she has built a forward-thinking and highly respected training environment.
With over 25 years of experience in dance education, performance, and choreography, she is known for her technical expertise and innovative approach to training. A graduate of Queen’s University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Kelsea was also a co-captain of the Queen’s University Dance Team, where she helped lead the team to national-level competition and multiple titles.
Her academic and professional background has shaped a unique approach to dance education, integrating principles of biomechanics and STEAM into her training methods. As a certified instructor with RAD, ADAPT, Acrobatic Arts, and more, Kelsea continues to develop programs that push dancers to train smarter, perform stronger, and think differently.
She is also a certified member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.
Emma Calliou
Emma began dancing in Fort St. John, British Columbia, where she trained and competed across all disciplines for over a decade.
Her performance experience includes representing ballet at the British Columbia Dance Provincials and training at the Victoria Academy of Ballet.
At Mount Royal University, Emma served as President of the MRU Cubs Dance Team, where she led the program through a period of growth and recognition. In 2025, she was awarded Executive of the Year by the MRU Varsity and holds her four years on the team close to her heart.
With a background in business communication and a focus on sports media, marketing and event operations, Emma brings a strategic and community-driven perspective to TrueWest. Her experience coordinating events for the sports and event organizations has further strengthened her ability to execute large-scale productions.
Emma is a strong advocate for university dance teams and is committed to pushing for their recognition within varsity athletics. Her work with TrueWest reflects that mission … creating a space where dancers are taken seriously.
